Thanks to the infomercial from blanket hell, sleeves and warmth have been given a bad name. So in defense of quality and personal sanity I have put together a list of the differences between the Slanket and Snuggie.

  SLANKET SNUGGIE
Established 1998 2008*
Created by Gary Clegg Fosdick Corporation**
Material 100% Polyester Microfiber Fleece (think mystery meat)
Size 60 x 95 inches 41 x 71 inches
Thickness 310 gsm 170 gsm***
Sleeves 13.5 inch diameter 9 inch diameter
Colors 11 3
Price $44.95 $19.99 + Book light
Shipping About $10 $8

*The Snuggie company implemented illegal marketing tactics and posted advertisements around the web with the title “Slanket” and a link to their site.  Blatant trademark violation.
**Fosdick Corporation received an F rating from the BBB.
***If you hold the Snuggie up, you can see through it.

Gary Clegg, the mastermind of the Slanket, even replied to my email and gave a little extra information about his company!

“…overall we strive to provide a quality product and take care of our customers no matter what.  We go above and beyond for [customers] all the time. We donate Slankets to hospitals, homeless shelters, etc…”
- Gary Clegg, The Slanket Mastermind

Finally, a comparison between websites. You can make your own decision, but the Snuggie website makes me feel dirty.

In full disclosure I own a Slanket and it is awesome. The snuggie sucks, buy a Slanket. Don’t let the terrorists win.

Awesome breakdown. I really feel like an educated consumer now. Way to be a sleeved-blanket watch dog!

How does the slanket not slide right off that leather couch?

Good question Becki. I’m betting the guy suffers from the same problem I have on most leather couches, his butt is sticking to the cushion!

it’s too bad the Snuggie has that whole drafty, hospital gown thing going for it… seems like it should wrap around all the way

I also own a Slanket and it is amazing. The snuggie does not even compare. The mystery meat fleace material of the Snuggie causes static so bad it would blow up a small animal. Cheers to Gary Clegg for a great invention.

I got a snuggie for Christmas…it sucks. The static is so bad that when I’m wearing it anything I touch will shock me. Also, it doesn’t keep me warm and it leaves pink lint on everything. I wish I had seen this before I got my snuggie. I will soon be investing in a Slanket.
